Welcome

Sometimes life throws us unexpected curve balls that are difficult to manage. Other times, we may find ourselves struggling to manage day to day life even without any major life changes. Therapy can be an important tool for helping us manage both unexpected events as well as the stresses of daily life.

I provide research-based psychotherapy to adults (18+) who are struggling with a wide variety of challenges. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and mild alcohol and cannabis use disorders (see “Services Provided” for more details). I typically conduct individual therapy sessions, however, am open to occasionally bringing in a significant other or close friend as needed to support treatment.

Everyone’s situation is unique and ultimately you are the expert on you. My approach is based on the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy techniques, which I adapt to fit your unique circumstances and therapy needs.

My primary modality for providing therapy is Telehealth as research supports that Telehealth sessions are no different from in person sessions in the effectiveness of treatment. I do have the ability to provide an in person session as clinically appropriate on an as-needed basis (see “Services Provided” for more details.).

I am goal-oriented and change-focused. I provide more than just an empathetic ear. I always encourage clients to begin treatment with the end in mind. We begin treatment with a discussion of the questions: “How will you know when you are done with treatment” and “What will be happening (or not happening) in your life that will tell you that things are better?” The answers to these questions will help formulate the goals that we work to accomplish together.
